Adeline Cavanaugh

Adeline M. Cavanaugh, age 48, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Spirit Lake Nation began her journey to the spirit world on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Sanford on Broadway Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Adeline Marie Cavanaugh was born on July 22, 1971 in Devils Lake, ND, the daughter of the late Timothy and Kathleen (McDonald) Cavanaugh.  She was reared and educated in the Ft. Totten area, attending Four Winds High School graduating in 1990.  Adeline attended United Tribes and received a degree in Early Childhood Education in 2003.

Adeline was employed at Spirit Lake Head Start until moving to Bismarck, where she worked at United Tribes Day Care and various other jobs over the years.  About three years ago, Adeline moved to Fargo and worked in the Head Start Day Care and also did various other jobs.

Adeline enjoyed spending time on the phone with her friends and relatives.  She most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Adeline’s loving family includes, sisters, Cecilia Cavanaugh and Agnes (Cornelle) Cavanaugh, brother, Conrad Cavanaugh, and godson, Lestat Howard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Patrick Cavanaugh, sister, Claudette Cottonwood Cavanaugh, adopted brother, Dion White Bear, grandparents, Michael and Evelyn (WhiteThunder) McDonald, Percy and Elizabeth (Twohearts) Cavanaugh, and many beloved uncles and aunts.

Wake will be from 5:00PM – 9:00PM on Friday, June 26, 2020 with a Rosary at 7:00PM all at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten, ND.

Friends wishing to join the procession from New Rockford to Fort Totten may gather on the St. Jerome’s road, Fort Totten, prior to 4:15PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 10:00AM at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten, ND.

Burial will be at the St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Fort Totten.

My condolences to Aggie, Kixie, Conrad. sorry for your loss, Adeline was a kind and gentle person and she respected Cameron Howard and he always tease her and she would say everything back to him. She was a very nice person and she is my grandson’s godmother. Have a beautiful journey home Adeline.

  4. My sincere condolences to Aggie, Kixie, and Conrad. You’ve lost two sisters in two months, I can’t imagine your sorrow and pain. I pray for strength, comfort and healing during this most difficult time. Adeline is with Claudie, your mom and dad, what a joyous reunion that must be!
