Roger Cavanaugh, 72, of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Roger Vincent Cavanaugh was born on June 4, 1950 to Christine (Court) Cavanaugh and Jesse Cavanaugh in Devils Lake, ND.  Roger went to school at St. Michael, Fort Totten and then Wahpeton.  He then worked construction for a time and then went to Brunswick and then D.T.I.  He moved to St. Paul and lived there for a time and had 3 daughters.  He moved back to Fort Totten and met Lynda Lacroix and had a son Waldren Lacroix (Wally Boy).  He was employed as a cook assistant for the elderly program until medical issues.  He then retired and resided in Devils Lake assisted living.  

He is survived by his daughter, Christine of Aneta; son, Waldren of Fargo; sisters, Frances (Terry) Halsey of St. Michael, Darlene (Michael) Cavanaugh of Grand Forks, Delta Nelson of Minnesota and Carol Cavanaugh of Devils Lake; favorite aunt, Catherine Howard and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Roger is preceded in death by his daughters, Dawn Demarrias and Jessica Demarrias; parents, Jesse & Christine Cavanaugh; granddaughter, Cynthia Stone; 4 brothers and 3 sisters and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Roger’s Visitation will be Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 8:00AM – 9:45AM, followed by the Final Review at 9:45AM and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM all at St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND.

His Burial will be at the St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, St. Michael, ND at a later date.
