Stacey Driver

Stacey Marie Driver (woman who walks with Red Elk) was born on April 20, 1962 in Devils Lake, ND, to Shirley Belgarde and Paul Driver Sr.  She began her journey to the spirit world on December 30, 2021.

Stacey attended school at Little Flower School in St. Michael and St. Joseph’s and St. Mary’s in Devils Lake.  She lived in Hawaii and South Dakota for a while with her sister Paulette.  Stacey was a very caring person.  Every morning she liked to spend time drinking her morning coffee.  She has a lot of grandkids and great grandkids, who she loved dearly.  Stacey helped in any way she could.  She liked to visit with her friends and family, she didn’t like to be alone.  She loved to be around her kids and was always there to help them.  Stacey has a humorous personality.  She enjoyed going for drives and in her free time she enjoyed doing crafts, playing card games and dice.

She is survived by her sons Desmond Driver Sr. (Nellie), James Driver and Peter Smith; daughter Tanesia Smith; brother Paul Driver Jr. (Mariah) & family; sisters Paulette Driver & family, Verna (Ron) Baker & family and Lisa Driver & family; her aunts Lillie Owlboy, Sheila Thompson, Louella Thompson, Joyce Green, Imogene Belgarde, Arlene Belgarde, JoAnn Belgarde, Audrey Belgarde, Linda Driver, Eunice Lonebear, Evelyn Jimenez; her uncles Delvin Driver Sr., Marvin Driver, Larry Belgarde, Alfred Thompson Sr. and Robert Thompson Sr.; grandchildren Jonathan Driver Sr. (Kaylean), Shirley Driver, Alexis Driver, Emilee Driver, Desmond Driver Jr., Totiana Driver, JC Driver, Janasis Driver, Janet Driver, Dakota Smith, Katrina Smith, Lashawnee Smith, Martha Littlewind, Patricia Smith and Malaya Driver; great-grandchildren Kade Driver, Jonathan Driver Jr., Keya Driver, Gracelynn Lawrence and Blakely Yankton.  

Stacey is preceded in death by her parents Shirley and Paul; maternal grandparents Peter Belgarde Sr. and Mary Jane Granbois Belgarde/Thompson; paternal grandparents Verna Turtlehead Driver and James Driver Jr., nephew Dustin (Cricket) Jackson, her fur baby Ewok, aunts, uncle and many cousins.

Honorary Bearers: All of Stacey’s Family and Close Friends.  Special thank you to the Spirit Lake paramedics and EMTS that worked to revive Stacey.  Sorry to any family and friends that we forgot to mention.

Stacey’s Wake will be Wednesday at 5:00PM followed by a Rosary Service at 6:30PM all at Tekakwitha Center, St. Michael, ND.

Friends wishing to join the procession from New Rockford to St. Michael may gather on the St. Jerome’s road, Fort Totten, prior to 4:15PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 6, 2021 at 10:00AM at St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND.

Her Burial will be at the St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, St. Michael, ND.
