Lynn “Skinner” Sherman Flemmer, age 70, of Carrington, ND, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2021 at his home comforted by family members.

Lynn was born February 27, 1951, in Carrington, ND to Pete and Leona (Myers) Flemmer of Pettibone, ND.  Lynn Graduated from Pettibone High School in 1969.  He moved to Milwaukee, WI in 1970 and worked for Ladish Corp until being drafted for the Vietnam War.  He served from July 1971 to July 1973.  He worked various jobs after coming back from Vietnam.  In 1986, Lynn married Karen Nelson of Grace City.  Lynn was the mayor of Grace City, ND from 1990 to 1992.  In 1990 Lynn started his own trucking company “Skinner’s Trucking”.   In 2010 he sold his truck because of his failing health.  Lynn loved working on old cars and working on his trucks.

He is survived by his wife Karen, son Dillon (Jordana) and Jasmine & Maverick Flemmer, Carrington, daughter Abby (Ethan) Shroyer and Brycen, New Rockford sisters Sharon Hesch, Carrington, ND, Colleen (Irvin) Guthmiller, Wisconsin and Garnet (Don) Krueger, Jamestown, ND, brother Larry (Delores) Flemmer, Florida, sisters-in-law Cheryl Paulson, Bismarck, ND, Shirley (Jeffrey) Malarkey, Devils Lake, ND, Kathy Nelson, Carrington, ND and Debra (Chad Whetham), Jamestown, ND.

Lynn is preceded in death by his parents Pete & Leona Flemmer, parents-in-law Roger & Ilene Nelson, sisters Yvonne Young and Sonja Schumacher, nieces Stacy Young and Kathy Schumacher, nephew Scott Schaffer, great-nephew Cruz Schumacher, brothers-in-law Larry Hesch and Cliff Young.

 

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 12th, Noon-5:00PM at Evans Funeral Home, and will continue from 6:00-7:00PM at the church, followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00PM at Grace Lutheran Church, Carrington.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 13, 2021, at 2:00PM at Grace Lutheran Church, Carrington.

Burial will be Friday, May 14, 2021 at 2:00PM at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND .

  1. I knew Lynn from when I worked at Clarks over 30 years ago. He always had time to help and carry on a good conversation, very knowledgeable and an excellent driver. Condolences to his family and friends.

  6. My God bless and comfort the Flemmer Family with many good memories. We got to know Skinner when he hauled grain for us many years ago. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
