Delrita GoodIron

Delrita GoodIron, 30, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at CHI St. Alexius Health, Devils Lake, ND.

Delrita Rose GoodIron was born on August 7, 1993 to Delmarie “Joy” GoodIron and Travis DuBois in Devils Lake, ND.  She graduated from Four Winds School in 2012.  She was a member of Flint Knife Clan.

Delrita loved life and everything about it.  She loved going for rides, doing crossword puzzles and she was always up for a ride to White Horse Hill.  She always went for her evening strolls down the road to visit friends or to just go for a ride.  Delrita loved to visit.  Her friends and family were everything to her.  She especially loved spending time with her nephews, Joseph and Carter.  She also liked to spend her free time listening to her oldie’s music.  She loved a home-cooked meal and liked to snack.  She always had to have some kind of tea before bed.  Delrita was known for her very caring heart and was always willing to help out if needed.  She never said no.

She is survived by her father, Travis DuBois; sisters, Skyla Felix, Sara LaCroix and Horizon DuBois; brothers, Stephen DuBois; aunts, Alma GoodIron, Anna Birdbear, Emily Connor, Trish, Margaret, Kathleen Tarrant, Thelma Yellowolf, Rayna, Kateri and Karlyn Gachupin, Audrey Greywater, Lorraine, Melaine and Shelly Robertson, Myra DuBois and Grace Thumb; uncles, Raymond, Tony and James Yellowolf, Kenny Baker, Barney, Alvin, Nathaniel, Everrick, Romero, BJ Robertson, Clayton “Stubby” DuBois and Louis “Hopsty” DuBois; nieces, Nevaeh, Athena and Eve; nephews, Joseph Charboneau and Carter GoodIron; love of her life, Colton John Anderson; mother-in-law, Nicole Anderson; sister-in-law, Katie Cook and Preslie Cavanaugh; adopted daughter, Lunden Cavanaugh; grandmothers, Lila Anderson, Martha Birdbear, Mary Gachupin, Joan Church and Violet “Pinky” Robertson; grandfathers, Less Yellowolf, Fritz Birdbear, Ken Church and cousins, DJohn, Deomy, Devin Yellowolf, Jaleen Zaysha, Mia, Dalton, Charissa, Destiny, Stacy, Delberta Yellowolf, Johanna GoodIron and other numerous cousins and friends, too many to name, she was loved by many.

She is preceded in death by mother, Delmarie “Joy” GoodIron, Veronica and Brooks GoodIron, John GoodIron and many aunts, uncles and cousins on the DuBois side.
