Paul Hoppe Jr., age 75, passed away peacefully Friday, November 5th, 2021, under the care of hospice and his loving family in Alice, ND.

Paul Peter Hoppe Jr. was born on January 11, 1946, to Paul Sr. and Margaret Hoppe. He attended school until the 9th grade in Carrington, ND. At age 19, he married his first wife Mary Pierce.  Paul then married the love of his life, Barbara Gedrose on March 13, 1971, in Cokato, MN. Paul worked some time in Minnesota building steel buildings, hog barns, pole barns, and setting monuments. Later he went to work for Klocke Construction and also worked alongside his brother Chuck with Central City Builders for many years. He retired in 2008 at the age of 62, but continued to do many side jobs for neighbors, friends and worked a bit for Vigen Construction.

He enjoyed baking, cooking, going for drives, gardening, canning, the warm summer sun, and pinochle with his family.  He had a love for classic cars, hunting, fishing, trapping, and spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Paul was a gun enthusiast.  He loved working on and rebuilding guns and customizing them.  He belonged to the NRA.

Paul was a gentle soul willing to help anyone in need. He was a hard worker all his life, he never did a job less than 100%. He was a perfectionist and took pride in his work. If it was off 1/8th of an inch, it was off!

Paul is survived by his children: Robyn (Rachael) Hoppe, Wendy (Jon) Anderson, Tyrel (Kim) Hoppe, Angela Hoppe, Barbara (John) Flaharty, and Steve (Lori) Hoppe; his sisters: Liz (Darrell) Anderson and Marge (Clarence) Frappier; many brother and sister in-laws, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Paul is preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara, his parents, grandparents, three brothers:  John Hoppe, Jim Hoppe, and Chuck Hoppe, Sr. and two sisters:  Violet Tischleder and Linda Olson.

Paul’s Visitation will be 5:00PM – 7:00PM, Sunday, November 14, 2021, followed by a Funeral Service at 7:00PM at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.
