Jim House

Jim House passed away at home on Monday, March 6th, 2023. He was born on February 24th, 1952 in New Rockford, N.D. His parents were Tommy and Deloris House of Grace City, N.D. He graduated from Grace City High School and attended Williston State College.

Jim was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam War. He served his time in Germany playing basketball for the Army.

Jim married Connie Graham and together they had two children, Jason and Kristin. Later in life, they decided to get divorced. Jim has three grandchildren.

Jim worked for the Burlington Railroad for many years until he sustained a back injury.

Jim and Becky Alley have been together several years. They enjoyed playing cards and traveling to Mahnomen for concerts together.

Jim never met a stranger; he had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He was an excellent card player with a great memory. Jim was found to be lucky and loved to have fun.

Recently, Jim and Becky, along with his two brothers, his sister, and their families had a three-day family get-together in Las Vegas. They shared many laughs between one another throughout the weekend. The trip included many card games, that involved razzing one another.

Jim is survived by his life companion, Becky; his son, Jason; his daughter, Kristin; three grandchildren; his sister, Beverly; two brothers, Donnie and Alan; as well as his nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Deloris House; and his brother, Larry.

Jim’s wishes were to be cremated and they will be hosting a Celebration of Life for him on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the Juanita Pavilion (West Side) starting at 2:00PM with military honors at 4:00PM, a luncheon to follow, and Powerglide playing from 5:00PM until 9:00PM.
